Should Malta pull out of the Eurovision Song Contest?

Results of 30th June 2007

After Malta's bad performance in this year's Eurovision Song Contest (Oviliva Lewis' 'Vertigo' didn't even reach the final round) many people raised their voice demanding a withdrawal from the song contest.

www.malta-surveys.com asked the question whether Malta should pull out of the Eurovision Song Contest or not.

Between 15th and 30th June 2007 well over 350 people
participated in this online poll. Thank you very much!

Here the details:

392 votes were cast in this poll.

Unfortunately, there were 10 people who voted more than one time. The votes of these 10 people had to be made invalid in order to obtain a result which is more honest and true.
So the number of valid votes was 380.

Here the percentages that the various answers got:

Yes:                                        98 votes   =   25,79 %
No:                                        282 votes   =   74,21 %

INTERPRETATIONS:

Almost three quarters of the voters want to continue participating in the Eurovision Song Contest in future despite the bad performance of Maltese singers this year and last year.

The editor would like to point out, that this poll is not representative for the whole country. However, it gives a clear indication anyway.

This poll clearly shows that the world's biggest song contest plays an important role in the Maltese society. The people do not want to miss the enthusiasm that this event creates.
